The collegiate competition is on fire at the UAAP 75th season but things are also as heated as they've always been when it comes to the annual UAAP Cheerdance Competition. Fans from the competing schools came in droves at the newly built Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City to witness a grand spectacle of cheers, dance, and stunts.

The UP Pep Squad will be defending their crown for the second time and also vying for their 8th UAAP Cheerdance Competition title overall. And the results were quite predictable, though one that the UP Pep Squad clearly dominated. Their minimalist performance, smooth execution, difficult and original stunts, and impeccable choreography all contributed in helping the team successfully defend their crown at the 2012 UAAP Cheerdance Competition.

The surprise entry into the top 3 for the 20l2 UAAP Cheerdance Competition is the National University Pep Squad that finished with the second runner-up trophy and PhP 140,000 cash prize. Meanwhile, the FEU Pep Squad gains the recognition of becoming this year's runner-up and also extends their streak at the top 3 of the UAAP Cheerdance Competition to 10 years now!

  1. I am from UP and it makes me feel proud to be an alumnus of the premier institution of the country. UP Pep Squad didn't fail to surprise us with their creativity. Simple lang ang costume, malinis ang transition. Never mind the 'fail' part of the final stunt. Sablay lang kung tutuusin, but hey, when you finish studying in UP, you'd really wear a 'sablay'. :D

  2. I was able to watch this on TV. I only had 2 bets though, FEU and UP kasi based on performance, sila lang ung may WOW factor. (But since I'm a UP student, so I love my own.) Pero as I've seen the vids of the CDC in Youtube, mas namangha talaga ako sa performance ng UP when viewed at a different angle. Intense level of difficulty when it comes to stunts and routines plus the clean manner of execution. Undoubtedly, sila talaga ang panalo!

Sabi nga nila, sa UP pag may sablay, tagumpay! and im crossing fingers to wear my sablay when I finish my MA this May. :)
